The 1971 Motorist Information Act enabled all states to provide highway logo signs for businesses that provide gas, food, lodging or camping services from interstate highways. These signs were designated as essential services that motorists needed to be aware of in order to have a safe journey through any state. They must fall within the required restrictions of the Federal and State sign regulations. The process involves application to your State Department of Transportation to qualify your business for the program (distance, hours of operation, etc). We then prepare drawings that are submitted to your State DOT for specification approval (size, materials used, artwork/logo requirements). After the drawing is approved, we can then begin manufacturing the sign faces.
Price variables are primarily based on size, quantity and logo requirements. We have an artwork database of most National logos. You may also use properly formatted individual logos or our art department can custom make a design. Typical time frames from application process, to DOT Engineering review, to sign manufacture, delivery and installation are 60-120 days.
